Mission and Story

ADHD Assessment Should Be More Accessible, Transparent, and Useful

NVOX was created to improve how ADHD assessments are conducted, reviewed, and experienced.

Our mission is to expand access to a structured assessment process while giving clinicians a clear, comprehensive, and reviewable clinical record.

NVOX brings together clinical information, daily functioning, input from parents, teachers, and other relevant people when available, assessment task performance, digital and behavioral markers, and professional review within one integrated process.

The goal is not to automate diagnosis. It is to support better-informed clinical judgment, clearer understanding, and more appropriate next steps.

The Problem We Saw

The Information Was There.
The Process Was Fragmented.

The Information Was There. The Process Was Fragmented.

Responsible ADHD assessment requires information to be collected and reviewed across multiple sources, settings, and stages. That complexity is clinically important, but it can also make the process lengthy, labor-intensive, and costly.

Individuals and families may face long wait times, high costs, and limited access to clinicians with the training, experience, and availability required to conduct a comprehensive assessment.

Clinicians may also spend substantial time collecting forms, following up with information sources, organizing documents, reviewing differences across reports, and preparing clinical documentation.

NVOX was created to organize and streamline this complexity without reducing the person to a questionnaire, a score, or the result of a single test.

How NVOX Began

Built Around the Assessment Problem,
Not a Single Model

Development began in 2021 with a detailed examination of the structure, limitations, and operational challenges of traditional ADHD assessment.

Instead of building around one questionnaire, task, digital marker, or AI model, NVOX was designed as a multimodal clinical assessment framework.

From the beginning, the focus was on collecting evidence systematically, preserving the source and context of each piece of information, considering quality and interpretability, and keeping professional review at the center of the process.

What We Built

One Multimodal Framework,
With the Clinician at the Center

One Multimodal Framework, With the Clinician at the Center

NVOX brings together structured clinical history, functional information, input from parents, teachers, and other relevant people when available, assessment task performance, digital and behavioral markers, information quality and interpretability, AI-assisted evidence organization, and a structured clinical report.

A Broader Clinical Record

Evidence from multiple sources, settings, and assessment components is organized within one reviewable case record.

Reviewable Technology

Technology helps collect, organize, and surface evidence while preserving its source, context, quality, and limitations.

Professional Authority

Licensed clinicians review the evidence, determine its clinical meaning, and authorize the final findings and recommendations.

Governed Delivery

Clinical governance, quality controls, defined permissions, and clear use boundaries support responsible delivery.

NVOX organizes the evidence.
Licensed professionals determine its clinical meaning.

Progress Over Time

From Early Research to an
Operational Assessment Framework

From Early Research to an Operational Assessment Framework

Since 2021, NVOX has progressed from early research and development to an operational multimodal framework implemented in real-world assessment workflows.

Along the way, NVOX has established structured evidence collection, quality controls, clinician review pathways, clinical governance, and a documented internal evidence base.

What Guides Us

Access, Transparency, Clinical Responsibility,
and Reviewable Evidence

Expand Access

Make high-quality assessment easier to reach for individuals and families facing financial, geographic, or systemic barriers.

Protect Clinical Judgment

Use technology to support clinicians, not replace the professionals responsible for interpretation and clinical decisions.

Make Evidence Reviewable

Preserve sources, context, quality limitations, and the basis for findings so the record can be examined professionally.

Continue Building the Evidence

Be clear about what has been established, what remains under evaluation, and how NVOX is preparing for independent external validation.

Expanding Access for People
Facing Barriers to Assessment

NVOX Foundation is a separate nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to ADHD assessments, supporting research, and advancing public understanding.

Its mission complements the work of NVOX by addressing the financial, geographic, and systemic barriers that prevent many individuals and families from reaching a high-quality assessment process.

The Foundation also supports programs designed to help schools, communities, and professionals extend access to people who might otherwise remain without answers or appropriate support.
