Questions About NVOX?We Have Answers.
Everything you need to know about the assessment, pricing, report, and what comes next.
Most Asked
Why does NVOX request input from an educational professional or someone who knew me in childhood?
A strong ADHD assessment needs evidence that difficulties appear in more than one setting and that relevant patterns were present early in life. For children, educational input helps document school functioning. For adults, input from someone who knew the person before age 12 can help document childhood patterns.
Does NVOX work with insurance companies?
At this stage, payment is made directly through NVOX. We plan to offer broader insurance support in the future. When needed, NVOX can provide a superbill or suitable invoice for self-submission, but reimbursement depends on the customer’s insurance policy and is not guaranteed by NVOX.
Who makes the clinical decision?
Clinical meaning is determined through professional review. AI can help identify patterns, but it does not make a diagnostic decision on its own.
What digital markers may be collected?
Digital markers may include response timing, consistency, attention patterns, movement, voice and speech patterns, and task-related behavior.
Why does NVOX request camera and microphone permissions?
During certain tasks, and only after permission is granted, NVOX may collect digital markers related to task performance.
Who completes the questionnaire for minors?
For people under 18, a parent or legal guardian completes the initial questionnaire. The child or teen completes the assessment tasks independently.
What is NVOX Foundation Advocacy?
In appropriate cases, if an accommodation request was not adequately considered, a family or individual may contact the NVOX Foundation Advocacy program. The program is available at no cost and can help organize information, understand the situation, and consider possible next steps.
Can I split the payment?
In eligible countries, Klarna may be available at checkout. Qualified customers may be able to split the assessment cost into 3 or 4 interest-free payments, depending on location and Klarna approval. Available options will be shown before checkout is completed.
How is my information protected?
Information is collected and transmitted through a secure process, with access limited based on need and relevant permissions.
When will I receive the report?
In most cases, the report is ready within about 3 business days after the assessment is completed, the required information is received, and clinical review is finalized. During high-volume periods or when information is missing, it may take a little longer.
Is NVOX only for accommodations?
No. Accommodations are one important use of the report, but the report is also designed to help people understand the findings, share them with professionals, and plan appropriate next steps.
Does AI make the diagnosis?
No. AI helps identify patterns in the information collected, but it does not diagnose on its own and does not replace clinical judgment.
Does NVOX Companion replace a clinician or therapy?
No. It is a support tool only. It does not replace a clinician, therapy, or medical advice, and it does not make medication decisions.
Is NVOX just a questionnaire?
No. NVOX combines questionnaires, attention tasks, input from relevant people, existing documents when available, digital markers, AI-assisted analysis, and clinical review.
Does NVOX prescribe medication?
No. NVOX does not prescribe medication and does not make medication decisions.
Is NVOX for emergencies?
No. NVOX is not an emergency service and is not intended for acute mental health crises. If there is immediate danger or severe distress, contact emergency services or an appropriate medical professional.
Is the system tracking me?
No. The goal is not to track the person or draw conclusions from a single marker. The goal is to add a structured information layer to clinical review.
Are accommodations guaranteed?
No. The report can support a request, but final decisions are made by the school, college, workplace, testing body, or relevant institution.
Is the report automatically accepted by institutions?
No. The report is designed to support requests and conversations, but final decisions are made by the school, college, workplace, testing body, or relevant institution.
Do I need a previous diagnosis to start?
No. You can start without a previous diagnosis. If you have previous evaluations, medical records, school reports, or accommodation documents, they can be uploaded as part of the process.
Do I need to complete everything at once?
No. You can stop and come back. Input from other people and relevant documents can be collected separately through a secure link.
What is NVOX Companion?
NVOX Companion is a support tool available after the report. It helps you understand parts of the report, revisit recommendations, organize questions, and turn findings into clearer next steps.
Who is NVOX for?
NVOX is for children ages 8 and older, teens, and adults who want to understand whether the findings support ADHD and what may help next.
How much does NVOX cost?
NVOX offers two review paths. The Connected Clinician Path is $349, and the NVOX Clinician Path is $499. The assessment itself is the same in both paths.
Is outside input important for using the report with institutions?
Sometimes yes. In some settings, input from an educational professional, a close person, or previous documentation can strengthen the usefulness of the report for support or accommodation conversations.
What happens if I miss the feedback session?
The feedback session is a required part of the process before the final report is delivered. The report is delivered only after a clinician in your selected path has reviewed the findings with you and explained what they mean. For minors, the session is held with the relevant parent or legal guardian. If you miss a scheduled session, you will need to reschedule based on team availability and NVOX scheduling and cancellation policies.
Who can join the NVOX Network as a clinician?
The network is designed for licensed clinicians relevant to ADHD and mental health, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other licensed clinicians, depending on their license and scope of practice. Each clinician must be reviewed and approved before joining the network.
What does the person being assessed do?
The person being assessed completes a short reading sample and a focused attention task. Adults also complete a structured self-report questionnaire.
What is included in the price?
The price includes the assessment, questionnaires, tasks, the option to upload documents, clinical review, MD oversight, a clear and comprehensive report, and NVOX Companion after the report is delivered.
How long do the questionnaire and tasks take?
The questionnaire usually takes about 30 minutes, the reading sample about 2 minutes, and the attention task about 15 minutes.
What happens if the findings do not support ADHD?
The report can still explain the findings, present additional clinical considerations, and suggest what may be worth exploring or doing next.
What does the NVOX report include?
The report includes clinical findings, an evidence summary, functional impact, additional clinical considerations, practical recommendations, and documentation designed to be clear and useful.
What is the Connected Clinician Path?
This path is for people who already have a clinician in the NVOX Network. You complete the same assessment and review the findings with your connected clinician. The price is $349.
What is the NVOX Clinician Path?
This path is for people who want feedback directly from NVOX. You review your results with a PhD psychologist from NVOX in a secure online feedback session. The price is $499.
What if I cannot afford the assessment?
We do not want cost to be the reason someone cannot access a high-quality ADHD assessment. In appropriate cases, NVOX Foundation may offer discounts, subsidized programs, or full assessment sponsorship, depending on need, program availability, and relevant criteria.
Are task results compared with norms?
When appropriate norms are available, task performance and response patterns may be compared against them to add objective context. Task norms are currently available for ages 8 to 65.
Is there guidance during the assessment?
Yes. A friendly animated guide explains each step and helps make the experience feel clear, guided, and less stressful.
Can people over 65 complete an assessment?
Yes. Assessment is available for people over 65. Task norms are currently available for ages 8 to 65, so for people over 65, clinical interpretation may rely more heavily on the other information layers and clinical review.
Is the assessment aligned with DSM-5-TR criteria?
Yes. Clinical review considers how the evidence collected relates to DSM-5-TR criteria for ADHD.
Do children under 10 need an adult nearby?
Yes. For children under 10, we recommend having a responsible adult nearby to help with instructions or technical issues. The child should complete the assessment tasks independently.
Is NVOX Companion included at no additional cost?
Yes. NVOX Companion is included at no additional cost after the report is delivered.
Is NVOX a clinical ADHD assessment?
Yes. NVOX is a home-based ADHD assessment process that includes structured questionnaires, assessment tasks, AI-assisted analysis, clinical review aligned with DSM-5-TR criteria, MD oversight, and a clear, comprehensive report.
Is my information protected under HIPAA?
Yes. NVOX is built with security and privacy measures aligned with HIPAA requirements to help protect sensitive health information throughout the assessment process.
Is NVOX useful if I was already diagnosed before?
Yes. Previous evaluations and existing documents can help build a fuller picture, but NVOX still completes its own structured assessment process.
Can I complete the assessment from home?
Yes. The assessment is completed online from home using a computer with a camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.
Can I start if I am not sure I have ADHD?
Yes. The assessment is designed to help understand whether the findings support ADHD, and whether other explanations or next steps may be worth considering.
Is the assessment the same in both paths?
Yes. The assessment itself is the same. The difference is who reviews the results with you.
Can the report help with conversations with a physician, therapist, or licensed professional?

Can the report support accommodations?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. The report can support conversations and requests around 504 Plans, IEPs, college accommodations, workplace accommodations, or standardized testing accommodations.
Can the report support accommodation requests with schools, colleges, or testing bodies?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. The report is designed to support conversations and requests with relevant institutions, but each institution makes decisions according to its own policies.
Can the report address other possible explanations or co-occurring concerns?
Yes. When relevant, the report may address possible alternative explanations, co-occurring concerns, or areas that may be worth exploring further.
Can I upload previous documents?
